China is set to host the Global Governance Forum from October 23 to 25 in Xiong’an New Area, Hebei province, bringing together international representatives to address pressing global challenges. The event, organized by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, will focus on rebuilding confidence and cooperation by reforming and improving global governance in a rapidly changing world.

The forum will serve as a platform for participants from political, academic, business, media, and youth sectors to discuss key issues such as the role of the United Nations, climate change, artificial intelligence, and multilateral trade. Nearly 100 countries from the Global South, Europe, and the Americas are expected to send representatives to engage in these critical discussions.

As part of the event, attendees will have the opportunity to visit Xiong’an New Area, which China is developing into a future-oriented urban center. This initiative aligns with China’s broader efforts to showcase Xiong’an as a hub for innovation and sustainable development.

The forum’s theme, “Rebuilding Confidence and Cooperation: Reforming and Improving Global Governance in a Transforming World,” underscores the urgent need for collaborative efforts to tackle the complex challenges facing the international community. By bringing diverse perspectives to the table, the forum aims to foster a renewed commitment to collective action and effective governance strategies.

This gathering in Xiong’an marks a significant step in China’s diplomatic engagement with the world, highlighting its role in facilitating dialogue on global governance matters. The outcomes of this forum could potentially influence future international policies and cooperative frameworks.
