In a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated his country’s commitment to a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Emphasizing the importance of resuming peace negotiations, Xi advocated for the swift creation of an independent Palestinian state. His remarks underscored the necessity for a comprehensive ceasefire, the protection of civilians, continued humanitarian aid, and a political resolution grounded in international law.

President Xi highlighted the need to uphold the principle of Palestinians governing Palestine, which includes the administration of the West Bank and the reconstruction efforts in Gaza. This stance reflects China’s ongoing position on the issue, supporting the rights of Palestinians to govern themselves in their quest for statehood.

The talks between the two leaders also focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between China and Jordan. They expressed mutual interest in broadening cooperation across various sectors, including trade, infrastructure, transportation, digital technology, artificial intelligence, and green energy.

As a result of the discussions, several cooperation agreements were signed, marking a commitment to enhance collaboration in these key areas. The agreements aim to bolster economic ties and foster technological advancement, aligning with both nations’ goals for sustainable growth and development.
