Chinese President Xi Jinping has underscored the importance of integrating national security with development as China pursues its modernization objectives. In a recent address, Xi highlighted the necessity of enhancing national security measures, improving risk prevention strategies, and addressing both immediate challenges and their root causes.
Xi’s call for action comes amid reports from Chinese authorities indicating a decline in criminal and homicide cases as of 2025, with public satisfaction regarding safety remaining above 98 percent. The focus on security is accompanied by efforts to leverage technology and legal frameworks to bolster the country’s security system.
Authorities in China are placing a greater emphasis on early risk detection and crime prevention, aiming to resolve disputes at the local level. The government is also concentrating on combating serious violent crimes, human trafficking, telecom fraud, and other significant threats.
The Chinese government’s strategy involves continued efforts to tackle organized crime and online fraud, as part of a broader initiative to ensure the country’s security remains robust. This approach reflects a commitment to balancing national development with the imperative of maintaining a secure environment for its citizens.
