In a significant development for travel between China and Taiwan, Loong Air has inaugurated a direct flight service linking Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Taichung International Airport. This new route represents Loong Air’s first cross-strait service, establishing a twice-weekly schedule with flights available on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
This strategic addition is anticipated to enhance connectivity between southwestern China and central Taiwan, facilitating smoother travel for passengers between these regions. Taichung International Airport continues to expand its reach, now boasting a total of 31 operating or announced routes. This includes 20 regular services alongside 11 charter routes, highlighting the airport’s role as a key hub in the region. With Chengdu joining the lineup, Taichung Airport now connects to three scheduled cross-strait destinations, alongside existing services to Nanjing and Qingdao.
