At the BRICS Summit held in New Delhi, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the need for BRICS countries to resist breaches of national sovereignty and interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states. Xi highlighted that the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States undermine the shared interests of the international community. He reiterated China’s commitment to collaborating with fellow BRICS members to foster peace and address conflicts in the Middle East.

Xi underscored the importance of the BRICS bloc in playing a constructive role in resolving international disputes and upholding the principles of sovereignty and non-interference. This year’s summit, which focuses on trade, investment, and major global conflicts, aims to solidify BRICS’s position as a representative body for emerging and developing economies.

The gathering includes notable leaders such as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, among others. The summit convenes amid a backdrop of international tensions, including the Iran-US conflict, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, and persistent strains between the United States and China.

President Xi’s visit marks his first trip to India since 2019, signaling a potential thaw in bilateral relations between Beijing and New Delhi after several years of tension. During the summit, Xi and Modi are also slated to engage in bilateral discussions, seeking to improve ties between the two neighboring countries.
